It’s Over

When you go, please, go slow

So I’d see your every step reverberating in my chest;

So all I ever felt for you would roll into a ball of pain

And die inside me – then, I’ll know

It’s over

/

Please, do not say you will return

Don’t tie down, don’t make me wait – I’ve not the patience

To grow roots where rain would fall but once a year;

Don’t make me rot, don’t make me yearn

It’s over

/

It’s over

And I stand alone away from street lamps’ yellow lights

Suddenly, in the turbid night your voice finds me, your hands grasp mine;

It doesn’t matter what I said – my hearts knows that

It isn’t over
